Almono-Hazelwood site to get $10M in state funding for redevelopment

Councilman Corey O’Connor joined Governor Tom Corbett, local elected officials, and Hazelwood community leaders to announce the release of a $10 million Economic Growth Initiative grant for Almono-Hazelwood, the redevelopment of a brownfield site to be used for residential, commercial and mixed-use.

Funds will be used for the construction of necessary on-site transportation infrastructure, utility infrastructure, off-site transportation improvements, public open space, general site preparation and remediation.

Hazelwood and the Almono site continue to grow and prosper to become what Corey O’Connor has called ‘the crown jewel of the City’.
